Who we are
Alexander Fidalgo is a Certified Addiction Coach for the state of Massachusetts and a Certified Community Health Worker. For the past 13 years, he has focused on coaching and training throughout the state and the nation. One of his recent initiatives has been to provide bilingual classes and translate a recovery coaching curriculum into Spanish, creating opportunities for Latinx communities. He has also worked as a contracted trainer through the state in Recovery Coaching certification and recertification classes.
Through Choices Addiction Recovery Education, Alex has been delivering various training sessions in both English and Spanish nationwide. He is currently employed by the nonprofit organization Health Resources in Action in Boston, Massachusetts, where he provides training for the Behere Initiative, focusing on overdose prevention, combating stigma, and addressing other important themes. Alex also assists with curriculum development in his role.
In addition, Alex serves as the technical support and subject matter expert for online learning within his department. Before his work with Health Resources in Action, Alex worked as a coach for various agencies throughout the state. Before entering the addiction recovery field, he spent 10 years in the customer service industry in Florida.
As a person in long-term recovery for 20 years, Alex’s recovery journey is faith-based. He enjoys salsa music and dancing, working out, playing basketball, and traveling. He is also a devoted husband and father of six children, who are his pride and joy.
